Instructions for burning the Nomad firmware...

Format a CF card in a PC, MAC or Nomad mirror slot.

Unzip the ZIP file and copy the NomadProgFile_x.xx.BIN file to the CF card.

Insert the CF card into the mirror slot of the Nomad

Hold the STAR key while powering on. The unit should indicate its progress.

If you have a CF card that has a program file on it already, be sure to delete the
program file BEFORE placing the new file on the card. Otherwise the Nomad
will probably still see the old program file on the card.

To be sure, it may be helpful to always format the CF card just
before copying the program file to it.

Note that holding the MENU key while booting the unit will attempt to boot from the CF card.
In this case the new program will run, but not be permanently burned into the unit.

It may be wise to perform a Memory Factory Restore when after upgrading several version levels.

As of this writing the current boot loader version is V12.
If the first thing the Nomad prints when it boots is V11 or less, you should
update the boot loader program. This can be done in the Advanced Setup menu.
A copy of the current boot loader program is always built into the main firmware
version so no separate BIN file is needed.
